Job Title: PHP Web Developer 1 (Mid-Level)

Summary

Seeking a web developer with a strong technical background and a passion for the powersports industry. We are seeking a candidate that can collaborate with our team to develop front-end web applications.

The primary languages that we develop with are HTML5, PHP and JavaScript but we do not necessarily limit ourselves to that area. We are looking for mid-level candidates who aren’t afraid to learn something new along the way. While we love computer science degrees from top engineering schools (BS/MS/PhDs), equivalent work experience with a demonstrated ability to deliver is equally as good.

Competencies

Strong understanding of PHP, application architecture and object-oriented design
Self-starting learner who thrives under pressure and enjoys success
Excellent communication skills and strong organizational skills
Dedication to individual development, challenging teamwork, and new technology
Fundamental Microsoft Office skills. Email, Spreadsheets, etc
Ability to work with minimal direction while maintaining a high level of productivity
Knowledge of how to develop in one or more web IDE’s (Integrated Development Environments), such as Eclipse, NetBeans, RPGsp, etc
Flexibility in a dynamically growing/evolving company
Knowledge: Computer programming concepts, relational databases, programming languages, and system design
Skills: Oral and written communication, familiarity with programming languages and applications as needed for position and customer-service oriented
Abilities: Work collaboratively in a team environment, be a self-starter, communicate effectively and learn new technologies
Experience working with JavaScript (especially jQuery, AJAX)
Excellent knowledge of Linux development environment and open source tools/platforms
Ability to adapt to new technologies.
A solid foundation of semantic HTML and CSS
The ability to solve technical issues and test your work accordingly

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Front-end web UI & back-end web application development
Analyze requirements, architect & design solutions
Write, test, integrate and document web applications that meet business needs
Analyze, troubleshoot and fix bugs and other problems, working with support as necessary
Collaborate with the team to meet defined goals and provide ideas and initiative in the improvement of the processes and tools used
Generate quality HTML/CSS markup and JavaScript from Photoshop mockups

Bonus Skills

Understanding of IBM iSeries architecture
Drupal, Magento, and other CMS experience
Experience with both Adaptive and Responsive Web Design principles
LAMP server (EC2) administration on Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Mobile Development (iOS/Android/or web-based HTML5 mobile responsive design)
Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or InDesign experience
Providing URLs of sites you’ve developed
Providing your GitHub username so we can view some of your projects/code
